What We Believe

Rev. David Moynihan, Senior Pastor

Pastor Dave has been serving here at First Baptist since 1992.  While an engineer in this area during the late 70’s and early 80’s, he along with his wife Susan, felt a call to the ministry and decided return to school for some ministerial training.  He graduated from Grace Theological Seminary in 1985 with a Master of Divinity.  He and Susan then joined the American Mission for Opening Churches and were involved in a church planting ministry in the Berkshires of Massachusetts until July of 1992.

Since coming to First Baptist, Pastor Dave has endeavored, by God’s grace and the Spirit’s enabling, to direct the ministry in an increasingly Christ Centered, Biblically Based and Family Oriented manner.  God has blessed, giving him the joy and privilege of seeing the Church grow both numerically and spiritually.  He has also had the blessing of adding Pastor Josh on staff to oversee our Christian Education and the Youth ministries.

Pastor Dave and Sue have been married for over 38 years and have 3 adult children who love and actively serve the Lord. He and Susan also have 7 grandchildren who though living in other states, have been a wonderful source of joy and blessing to them.

Rev. Joshua Trowsdale, Associate Pastor

Pastor Josh has been serving here at First Baptist since 1998 with our youth and children.   He has a B.A. in Bible (Christian Education & Youth Work) from Cedarville University and has a love for young people and a desire to see them grow in the faith.

He's been married to his wife, Jenn, since 2001 and they live in nearby New London, Connecticut.  They have two wonderful little girls, Emma Grace and Evelyn Faith, as well as Carolina the dog.

Pastor Josh enjoys sports (basketball, especially), photography, reading, music, whitewater rafting, church history, fantasy baseball, road trips, and, of course, the Boston Red Sox.
