COMMUNITY OUTREACH
PRAYER - We believe very strongly that our local church should be a blessing to our community in a variety of ways. We PRAY for the needs of our community - for strong marriages and families, for the poor, sick, and elderly, for our government officials, our police & firefighters, and so on. If you have a situation in your life you'd like the church family to be praying for, please contact us. God works through prayer and He most definitely answers prayers.
MATERIAL ASSISTANCE -
Also, our FOOD PANTRY is designed to be a supplement for those in need of food. We provide bags of groceries along with a small gift card for perishable items (milk, bread, eggs, etc.). The pantry is available by appointment with the church office (443-1126).
We also often take part in Project Angel Tree at Christmas - bringing gifts to the children of prisoners - and / or Operation Christmas Child - providing shoeboxes full of gifts to needy children around the world.
SERVING THE ELDERLY - Currently, we hold services for the residents at BAYVIEW HEALTH CARE CENTER on every other Sunday afternoon as well as the third Monday night of the month. These short times of singing, prayer, and a message from God's Word are a real encouragement for these dear seniors in our community. If you'd like someone to provide a short worship service at your facility, please contact the church office at 443-1126.
FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENTS - Throughout the year, we have several events for families here at the church. Some of the ones we often do are our VBS SUMMER CAMP in June, participating in HARKNESS FAMILY DAY in September, the AWANA FALL FUN FAIR in October / November, and different CHRISTMAS programs that have varied from Sunday School Christmas Pageants to Christmas Choir Musicals to a Live Nativity with real animals on the front lawn. The community's always welcome so keep an eye on the web site and come on out. |
